Shri Anil Kumar, joined CRPF in 1991(IRLA No. 3117), having served in terrorist and first aid in Militancy prone areas like Punjab, Manipur, Nagaland, Assam and Jammu & Kashmir, he has exhibited outstanding attributes of leadership. Whatever operational assignment were entrusted to the officer, he has accomplished them.

During his last tenure in CRPF as Commandant, he led the Battalion (5th Bn CRPF) in Anti-Militancy operation in District Kulgam of Jammu & Kashmir, during 2006-08. The unit was able to eliminate many hardcore militants and apprehended many militants with arms and ammunition. Working in close liaison with Police and Army, his unit could bring peace in the Distt. Kulgam.

The unit was awarded 1(one) Present’s Police Medal for Gallantry  and 10 (ten) Police Medal for Gallantry, and he was also awarded with Police Medal for Gallantry for his brave act during anti-militancy operation during 2008 in Distt. Kulgam.

On his joining in the Academy, in the year 2009 as Joint Director, he is closely and effectively supervising training of Basic Course for last 3 batches. Apart from this, he has been supervising other in-service courses and the performance of training has also improved under his guidance.  He has also been performing various administrative functions in the Academy and running the establishment to the entire satisfaction of the Director. Lot many construction activities have been sanctioned to the Academy by the Government and the officer is closely monitoring the timely execution of the works through various agencies.

In this back drop, Shri Anil Kumar, Joint Director, of this Academy has been awarded President Police Medal for meritorious service on the occasion of Republic Day 2012.
